Greetings!
The Pohang Accelerator Laboratory (PAL) is preparing for the “6th International Symposium on Synchrotron Application in the Materials Industry”
under the theme of “Net Zero: Accelerator-Based Hydrogen Energy Material Technology.”
Since 2018 PAL has been holding an international symposium related to the battery material industry with the support of local governments (Pohang City, Gyeongsangbuk Province). Thanks to these efforts, the materials industry is continuing its remarkable achievements by attracting a number of research facilities and related industries.
The main purpose of this Symposium is to review the latest trends in next-generation batteries and discuss industry achievements in this field.
PAL wishes to invite all researchers who are interested in this theme. We truly expect with pleasure to see you at this symposium.

방사광가속기는 재료의 미세 구조 및 특성을 밝히는데 필수적인 연구시설로, 기초과학뿐 아니라 다양한 첨단과학기술 분야에서 활용되고 있습니다. 특히, 첨단산업 성장에 소재의 기여도가 점차 확대됨에 따라 에너지, 자동차, 반도체, 디스플레이 등 고부가가치 핵심 소재의 경쟁력 확보 및 신소재 개발에 기여하고 있습니다.
경상북도와 포항시 그리고 포항가속기연구소는 방사광가속기라는 국가 공동 연구시설을 기반으로, 지역과 국가의 신소재 산업 발전을 가속화하고자 세계적인 석학 및 해당 산업 분야의 전문가들을 모시고 신소재 연구 및 산업적 활용을 주제로 매년 국제심포지엄을 개최하고 있습니다.
올해는 “2024 가속기 기반 수소에너지 소재 기술”을 주제로 행사를 개최합니다.
